His books ith Pen & Sword cover topics as diverse as piracy, the history of gin, shipwrecks, harlots and whores, important inventors, and trailblazing women of the eighteenth century. His most recent book tells the life story of Captain William Bligh, a much-maligned man. When not writing, he talks on Georgian topics both in Britain and abroad, particularly on board cruise ships.
