Mike BallMike Ball has spent much of his life facing adversity while serving others. After struggling through a childhood fraught with difficulties due to his mother's chronic mental illness and his father's tragic death, Mike Ball began a half century of pubic service when he joined the U.S. Marines in 1973. After he completed his service as a Marine, he became an Alabama State Trooper. He wore the trooper uniform for 8 years, until 1986 when he transferred to the Major Crimes Unit of the Alabama Bureau of Investigation where he served until his retirement in 2003, soon after being elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2002. During Mike's years of service inside the political world, his investigative skills and moral compass enabled him to navigate through a series of moral dilemmas that often challenged his faith but never broke it. In 2022, after serving two decades as the Alabama House District 10 Representative, Mike declined to run for another term in the legislature so he could spend his remaining years as a storyteller, philosopher, musician, and mentor to those who desire to serve others in a world that has always been corrupted by oversized egos whose primary objective is to serve themselves.
