Michael Robert VerrettAuthor/Illustrator Michael Verrett was born in St. Mary Parish in Louisiana a block away from acres of swaying fields of green sugar cane and just down the road from the unhurried Bayou Teche. A retired homicide detective/police sketch artist he has eld many colorful careers to include teaching gifted art in the West Baton Rouge Parish School System and as a member of the army, he was an instructor at the Army's Command & General Staff College. Achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. he is a war-time veteran, an awardee of the Bronze Star, and for the past 20 years a key member of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security.
