Michael Mitchelmore

Michael Mitchelmore is a former Associate Professor and (Hon) Fellow in the School of Education, Faculty of Arts, Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. His background is in secondary mathematics teaching, pre-service teacher edcation, professional development in mathematics education and research in spatial learning. He has directed the secondary mathematics undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Macquarie and has been a consultant to numerous educational authorities, editor of the Mathematics Education Research Journal and Director of the Centre for Research in Mathematics and Science Education at Macquarie University. He is renowned in Australasia and internationally for his expertise in research in structural thinking, measurement and spatial learning. Over the past 30 years, Michael and Joanne have collaborated in a large number of research projects and publications.
