Michael McDonald
Michael McDonald is the founding Director of the W Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics (CAE), University of British Columbia and now Professor Emeritus. Over his 50 year career he has conducted research in a variety of areas i ethics including both theoretical and applied issues. For the past two decades McDonald has focussed on the protection of research participants with a major emphasis on the governance of this area. His most recent research collaborations have been centred on how the experiences of research participants are understood by researchers and research ethics boards. McDonald continues to advocate evidence-based participant protection.
