Michael KusugakAcclaimed storyteller Michael Arvaarluk Kusugak spent his first six years living the nomadic life of the Inuit, travelling by dog sled, living in igloos and sod huts. At age six, he was taken to one of those infamous residential schools in Chesterfied Inlet where he had to live away from his parents. His family moved to Rankin Inlet in 1960. After stints at more residential schools in Yellowknife, NWT, and Churchill, Manitoba, Michael finally graduated from high school in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in 1968.
