Michael GuppyMichael Guppy (1950- ) did his undergraduate degree at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, a PhD at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and then, over 20 years, rose to the level of Associate Professor in Biochemistry at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia. His research interests over those 20 years included metabolic depression in animals like desert frogs, lungfish and diving seals, and the metabolism of cancer cells. These interests took him to exotic places like the Amazon River and Antarctica.
