Melinda Sutherland
The pandemic brought an unexpected gift which was the chance to pursue things I'd always wanted to but never had time for. One of those was diving into the family genealogy books I'd set aside years ago. Immersing myself instories of my ancestors, I felt deeply connected to my heritage, each story revealing new layers of fascination and insight. My great-grandmother's story especially captivated me, yet every attempt to learn more about her seemed to reach a dead end. Then it dawned on me-why not draw from my background as a freelance storyteller and write her story myself?
This story joins my previous works: Moments with Melinda for adults and my children's books, Belinda's Hugs and Read This One. I also self-produced two children's music CDs, Mosquitoes from a Can and Singin' and a Tellin' from the Old Porch Swing, both available on SoundCloud.
