"r. Deane," as his small patients called him, was a pediatric cardiologist for 40+ years, Chief of Section at San Diego Children's Hospital, University of Chicago, and University of New Mexico. He was educated and trained at Yale (BA, History), Chicago Medical School (MD), Northwestern, Harvard, and Anderson Graduate Schools (MBA). He is Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics, Pathology, and Decision Science at the University of New Mexico. Retired now to focus exclusively on empowering patients, his former positions included Director of Center for Healthcare Policy at Texas Public Policy Foundation, Chairman of Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico, and Director on the Board of New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange.
