Mayada HimaniMayada Himani is a published author, with A Strip of Blue being her second book of poetry and photography. She holds a master's degree in Islamic studies and a diploma in comparative law, both from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), Uiversity of London. She started her career at the Middle East Broadcasting Centre (MBC) in London, where she anchored and hosted a variety of programs, including the morning show, a fashion program, and a newspaper review program, among others. More recently she has devoted her time to her poetry and to volunteer work, where she has adopted a hands-on approach that included teaching children at Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut, among other direct engagement projects. Mayada was born in Yemen, lived her formative years in Lebanon, and spent her adolescence in the UK.
