Matthew holds the designation of Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT). In addition to teaching, he has enjoyed a lengthy career leading music worship for various church congregations. More recently, Matthew has expanded his interests and work into the area of Christian philosophy and has created a paperback series called Experiments in Christian Thought. The series is aimed at readers who might be skeptical of religion and spirituality, but who may be curious to understand more about Christian ideas, belief and practice.
