Matt J Duffy

Dr. Matt J. Duffy taught journalism, international media law, and ethics. He specializes on Middle Eastern journalism and media law, and his book "Media Laws of the United Arab Emirates" was published in 2014 by Wolters Kluwer. His peer-revewed publications appear in Journal of Middle East Media, Journal of Mass Media Ethics, Newspaper Research Journal, and Communication Law & Policy. He earned his Ph.D. in Public Communication from Georgia State University He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. Dr. Duffy also serves on the board of the Arab-United States Association for Communication Educators, an organization that aims to improve journalism in the Middle East. Dr. Duffy, who encouraged his coauthors to write this book when he was invited to a social media conference by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information, died on January 17, 2018.
