Massimo FrascaAntonino Cannata graduated cum laude in Classical Archaeology (School of Specialisation of Catania) with a Master's Degree in Ceramiche a pareti sottili ed altre produzioni fini da alcuni contesti siracusani. His research has focused on the transformtion that occurred in the countryside of South-Eastern Sicily between the Hellenistic and late antiquity periods. For several years he worked for IBAM-CNR, focusing on the material culture of the Roman age. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and monographs concerning urban archaeology, landscape archaeology, material culture and networks between the Roman Republic and the Middle Ages. From 2017, he has been the director of the Sicilian research centre Aditus in Rupe. He initiated and edited the book Hyblaea: Studi di archeologia e topografia dell'altopiano ibleo. Massimo Frasca is Associate Professor of Classical Archaeology and Director of the School of Specialisation in Archaeology at the University of Catania. He has directed excavations in Sicily and southern Italy and was a member of the Italian archaeological missions of Prinias (Greece) and Iasos and Kyme Eolica (Turkey). He is the author of numerous scientific publications and monographs. His main research topics concern the Greek colonies of Sicily and their relations with the indigenous peoples and the handicraft production of Kyme Eolica and other cities of Asia Minor. He is currently the director of the University of Catania's journal Cronache di Archeologia. Marco Stefano Scaravilli is a Classical archaeologist. He has taken part in many research projects, including the excavations of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Nea Paphos (Cyprus). He is currently an official at the Soprintendenza Abap per la citta metropolitana di RC e la provincia di VV (Ministero della Cultura) with position of responsibility for the management of the Museum and Archaeological Park of Medma-Rosarno (Rosarno-RC) and the Archaeological Park of Tauriani (Palmi-RC).
