Mary OrrMARY ORR is Buchanan Chair of French at the University of St Andrews since 2016, after holding Professorships in French at the Universities of Exeter and Southampton. A specialist of intertextuality and nineteenth-century French literatures that overly engage with new scientific understanding, Mary's monograph publications include her ground-breaking Intertextuality: Debates and Contexts (Polity, 2003) and Flaubert's Tentation: Remapping Nineteenth-Century French Histories of Religion and Science (Oxford UP, 2008).
