Markus HeideMarkus Heide is associate professor at the University of Hildesheim (Germany) and an affiliated researcher at the Swedish Institute for North-American Studies (SINAS) at Uppsala University where he taught as associate professor until 2020. His recent research concentrates on Inter-American relations (USA, Canada, Mexico) and representations of the US-Mexico border (history and current situation). Among other publications, he co-edited The Americas in the Nineteenth Century: Inter-American Perspectives on U.S. Literature (2008) and Hemispheric Encounters: The Early United States in Transnational Perspective (2015).
