Mark S HamanMark Haman, called Doc for decades by his students, has never had a pet squirrel but, boy, would he love one like Stumpy! Doc earned a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire in English Literature and an MA and a PhD from the University of Rocheste, with his dissertation focused on Middle English literature. He taught writing and literature at Rochester and colleges in New Hampshire before settling in to a long career teaching English and coaching basketball, soccer, and lacrosse at Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts. Now retired, he divides his time among three locations: a house in Townsend, Massachusetts, a cottage on Hickory Hills Lake in nearby Lunenburg, and the family farm in Wilton, New Hampshire. His best days include walking in the woods with the dogs, communing with the cats, kayaking, baking, watching birds and other wildlife, reading, writing, playing with grand-children, and annoying his wife with puns and bad jokes.
