He is now a freelance writer specializing in adventure, food and wine, and offbeat travel for such outlets as the Los Angeles Times, Slate Magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, Condé Nast Traveler, the Sydney (Australia) Morning Herald, Frommer's Travel, and the Travel Channel, as well as his alma mater T+L.
