Marian CockrellMarian Cockrell, 1909-1999, was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and lived most of her life in Ojai, California. She married a writer, Francis M. Cockrell, and quickly took up what became the family profession. She published short stories, novels and screnplays. Her television work included episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and the 1960s series Batman, often collaborating with her husband. Shadow Castle was her only children's book. She was a lover of animals and her house was always full of family pets and rescued creatures. She is survived by her daughter, novelist Amanda Cockrell, who edited this edition. Read More Read Less
