Maria BernierMaria Bernier, author of "Westerly Library and Wilcox Park: Celebrating 125 Years" (2018), is a librarian and archivist who volunteers on the boards of the Westerly Historical Society and the Westerly Library & Wilcox Park. For 30 years, she has live on Pleasant Street in the North End, surrounded by past and present Westerly industries. Ellen L. Madison, PhD is a co-author of "Built from Stone: The Westerly Granite Story," published by the Babcock-Smith House Museum where she is an active volunteer. Descended on both sides of her family from several founders of Westerly, she is the fourth generation to live on family land.
