Manuel Benet

Manuel Benet Blanes was born in Valencia in 1946. During the 1960s and 1970s, he studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in San Carlos, the Escuela de Maestría Industrial and at the Academia de Pintura Vicente Barreira. Soon after this, his career s a comic artist began as he produced artwork for Editorial Valenciana.
A firm favourite with Commando fans, Manuel has contributed to some of the comic’s popular ongoing series, such as Convict Commandos and the more recently created collections and upcoming new adventures featuring Manuel’s work via DC Thomson’s Heritage Comics and Commando.
