Machida KouMachida Kou was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1962. In 1997, he received the Bunkamura Doumago Literary Prize and the Noma Literary New Artist Award for Kussun Daikoku. In 2000, he won the Akutagawa Prize for Kiregire, and, in 2001, he received the Saktarō Hagiwara Prize for Doma no Shijūkudaki.
