Lynn Bain
Lynn met Mary Base when they both attended the Spokane Police Academy in 1980. As the only two females in the class, they had each other's back, even when on May 18th of that year, Mount Saint Helen's blew, and the city was ash-bound for weeks.
Lynn worked as a police officer and investigator for several years. Later, she taught English at Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane where for 16 years she honed her editing skills.
While there, she taught an elective course in Criminal Justice for which she designed the curriculum. She also started and mentored the first-ever Community Oriented Policing Services (COP Shop) in a high school run by high school students.
When she decided to retire from fulltime teaching, she facilitated it so that her newly retired friend, Mary, who had just acquired a teaching certificate, take her place, not only teaching English but running the Criminal Justice Program.
Semi-retired, Lynn taught Forensic Drawing at Spokane Falls Community College.
Now, fully retired, she co-authors and edits fact-based novels with her academy buddy, Mary. She paints, makes jewelry, plays mandolin and guitar and gardens with her husband.
