Loyd M UglowLoyd Uglow is a history and writing professor at a university in North Texas. His special areas of interest include the American West, the Mexican Revolution, and military history from all eras. He is a retired naval surface warfare officer.

Ficion is his primary love in writing, although his earlier books were all non-fiction. Those include Standing in the Gap, a history of army scouting camps used in Texas Indian campaigns, and two biographies for children, on Benjamin Franklin and Abraham Lincoln. His first novel, Marksman's Trinity, dealt with military action along the Rio Grande in 1916. He has honed his writing skills by working as a professional editor for several years..
