Lothar KahnDonald D. Hook is professor emeritus of Modern Languages and Literature at Trinity College, in Hartford, Connecticut. Educated at five U.S. universities, he is a widely published author of books and articles on literary subjects, sociology, cultural istory, gun control, quotations, and church matters.Lothar Kahn was born in Rehlingen in the Saarland when it was part of France. He immigrated to the United States in 1937 and earned a B.A. from the City College of New York and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. In 1946, he joined the faculty of Teachers College of Connecticut, as Central Connecticut State University was then called, as a teacher of French and German.
