I wrote the first book, Unicorn Jazz to help parents and teachers have important conversations with children that include compassion and understanding and to help children realize they have the power to reach out. I also wrote it to help children who look or feel different, who might be teased at school (like I was) to get some kind of support. "We all thrive for friendship, kindness and love in our lives." It's been so fun for me to create the lessons and the stories that focus around friendship, kindness, and love. After the story is read, I like to point out how sometimes it takes just one person to believe in you, or for you to believe in them, to change your life. My teachers believed in me, my grandmother believed in me, and I can give a list of names who have supported my dreams and goals.
