Li SenLi Sen was born in Yunnan Province, China, in 1966. He iscurrently professor of Literary Criticism at Yunnan University, and was the former dean of the School of Chinese Languageand Literature there. He concurrently holds the followingacademic titlesand positions: chairman of the ResearchCentre for Chinese Contemporary Art and Literature;member of the National Advisory Committee on TeachingArtistic Theory in Higher Education, under the Ministry ofEducation; editor-in-chief of New Poetry Magazine (Chinese);and member of the 'Them' school of poets, a well-knownpoetry school founded in 1984 in mainland China.Professor Li has published more than ten books, both monographsand edited collections, and more than four hundredshorter pieces, both academic papers and creative writing.
