Leon Barkho

Leon Barkho is professor of media and communication sciences at the University of Sharjah’s College of Communication. He holds an M.Sc. in applied linguistics and a Ph.D. in media and communication science. Previously, he held positions at ReutersNews Agency as bureau chief and at Associated Press as staff writer. He is the founding editor of the Journal of Applied Journalism and Media Studies. He has written numerous articles and books on discourse analysis, language, impartiality, translation and media and communication studies. His most recent book, A Critique of Arab Media Discourse, was published in Arabic by Arab Scientific Publishers Inc.
