Len AcklandLen Ackland is an accomplished journalist, journalism professor, and author. He was a reporter for the Des Moines Register, the Chicago Tribune, and other newspapers. While at the Register, he won the prestigious George Polk Award in 1978 for documening mortgage lending discrimination, called "redlining, in Des Moines. Later, as editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists magazine, he crafted its special issue on the Chernobyl nuclear accident, which won a 1987 National Magazine Award.
