Leisha BlackLeisha Black has a love for art and children and children's literature. She began exploring drawing and painting at a young age while on family camping trips, painting outdoor scenes with a box of watercolors. While majoring in elementary education, he specialized in Fine Arts and Children's Literature. She completed a master's degree in library and information sciences. After only a few years of teaching she left to raise her six children. Soon she became involved as a volunteer coordinator of parents teaching art to the elementary classes. When the school was converted to a charter school, she helped to establishing an art curriculum and became the school's art specialist for fifteen years until she went on a humanitarian mission to the Philippines with her husband.
