Dr. Lee Carter is an author, consultant, and seasoned leaderwhose passion lies in cultivating transformational leadership rooted in community, dignity, and collaboration. He is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Imago Leadership Consulting, LLC, where he equips leaders and organizations to foster ethical and missional impact across cultures and contexts.

Lee's journey of leadership began as a student leader with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Montana-a formative experience that shaped his vocational commitment to God's Kingdom. Following his graduation in 1997, he served for five years as a campus staff member in Montana, mentoring students at multiple universities. His global perspective deepened during a pivotal summer in Kenya (2001), where he witnessed firsthand the Spirit-led movement of cross-cultural mission and leadership, affirming his lifelong calling to serve and equip global church leaders.

Previously, Lee spent over 21 years with Bible League International, culminating in executive leadership as Executive Vice President of Scripture Engagement. In that role, he led field ministry programs worldwide, provided strategic oversight, and drove sustainable growth initiatives to expand the ministry's impact.

Lee is gifted in cross-cultural collaboration and systems leadership, with a heart for empowering missional leaders. His scholarship and practice converge to offer robust models of leadership that reveal the goodness of Jesus through service to others.

He holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University, a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with an emphasis in accounting and a minor in communication studies from the University of Montana.

Originally from Billings, Montana, Lee now resides in the southern suburbs of Chicago. He finds joy in reading theology and stories that stir the imagination, as well as writing, golfing, biking, walking, traveling, and amateur photography.
