Laurent Dala

Professor Laurent Dala is a Full Professor in Engineering with over 30 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering. He has previously served as Chief Scientist for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (South Africa) and held the Char in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Pretoria. A Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), Chartered Engineer (CEng), and Eur-Ing, he is also a former President of the Aeronautical Society of South Africa (AeSSA). Since 2014, he has secured over ZAR 3.0 million and £250,000 in funding as a Principal Investigator. He has published more than 180 peer-reviewed papers and holds four patents. An accomplished speaker, he has been invited to over 60 international conferences. Currently, he serves as Head of Mechanical and Construction Engineering at NUN, leading a team of over 100 academics.
