Laurel Burch
Laurel Burch's Kindred Creatures are just a small part of the magical world she has enjoyed creating since she was a child living in southern California. But it wasn't until the early 1960s, after a move to the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francsco, that she began selling her hand-made jewelry in the streets and in small galleries. By the 1970s Laurel had a thriving business, and poured her passion for color and all living creatures into her art. Collectors worldwide treasure her paintings, cloisonné earrings, totebags, shirts, ceramics, resin creatures, scarves and other items for their vibrant colors and imaginative designs. The daughter of a talented seamstress, Laurel shares a special kinship with all quilters, and someday hopes to "paint" with a needle and thread.
