Khosrow AdeliDr. Khosrow Adeli is a distinguished leader in clinical biochemistry and pediatric laboratory medicine, serving as Division Head at SickKids since 1988 and Director of its Point of Care Testing Program since 2001. He is Vice Chair of Quality at the Uiversity of Toronto’s Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology department and served as President of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry & Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) from 2020 to 2023. His research focuses on the pathophysiology of obesity, metabolic syndrome, and type 2 diabetes, particularly neuroendocrine regulation of lipoprotein metabolism via the gut-brain-liver axis. He leads the CALIPER project, establishing pediatric reference intervals widely used in clinical practice globally.
