Kathi Haacke MoreheadWhat do you do when you find yourself approaching the flip side of 60? You go after the dreams that you never thought you would. And so it was with Kathi. What started as a blogging experience morphed into two non-fiction books and then two fiction boks. Her philosophy is "just do it." Kathi has also published articles on the subjects of aging and mental health. These are two subjects close to her heart. Creating a body of work has been exhilarating, and Kathi couldn't have known how much she would grow from it. Life truly is the greatest teacher. Kathi began writing by starting a blog: A View from the Cheap Seats. She had no idea what she was doing, Kathi was just exorcising demons on a computer screen. She found it to be more therapeutic than years of professional treatment, which I found a little bit unnerving. Nevertheless, Kathi kept moving forward and subsequently published two compilations of her blog work: Heart Bleed: Letting Go and Stanching the Flow and The Best from the Cheap Seats. Kathi wanted to try her hand at fiction, but she's never considered herself that imaginative, and never thought she could ever write dialogue. As it turns out, she could, and Kathi published White Night and its sequel, Eternal Dawn. Right now, Kathi has completed her works on a contemporary historical novel that embraces her family roots. It has been a fantastic experience, and she hopes that her enthusiasm translates well in her new book, I.Am.Elizabeth, published by Neely Worldwide Publishing in September, 2017. Kathi's editor describes me as "intrepid," and she considers that a great compliment. When Kathi does a non-fiction piece, she shoots from the hip and pulls no punches. Most of the time, that is more to her detriment than her good, but if she feels that she has a message to get out, that's how she does it. Kathi's fiction work is much different. She works best with a general storyline in mind, and then refines it down. Kathi's fiction has tackled questions of morality, spirituality, life after death, love, and integrity. Kathi is not a conventional author, She writes in a conversational style so that she can interact with her readers. If you're looking for high style, you won't find it in her work. Kathi believes in the value of tightly crafted story - everything else will fall into place. I guess that makes Kathi a bit of a bohemian. And she's good with that! Read More Read Less
