Kamaruzzaman Bin SopianDr. Kamaruzzaman Bin Sopian is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia. He has been involved in the field of solar energy for more than twenty years. His main contributions are in solar radiatin modelling, alternative materials for solar absorbers, solar water heating systems with integrated storage systems, solar desalination, solar cooling, daylighting using solar light pipes, solar assisted drying systems, grid connected photovoltaic systems, thin film silicon solar cells, combined photovoltaic thermal or hybrid collectors and solar hydrogen production systems. Prof. Bin Sopian has published over 1000 research papers and has delivered keynote speeches at national and international conferences. He is founding member of the Malaysian Institute of Energy, a member of the World Renewable Energy Network based in the United Kingdom.
