K C RenzelBorn in Methuen, Massachusetts and raised throughout the Capital Region of New York State, author K.C. Renzel found poetry and creative expression in his quest for comfort and closure in a life built on grief, trauma and loss. Raised by a single mothr struggling with alcoholism and a wealth of strife from her own upbringing, K.C. adopted the persona of "Renzel" to bring peace and reason to the darker parts of his developing mind and make sense of the hardships the two would face across the years. At the young age of twenty-seven, K.C. found himself widowed and alone with his young daughter Jayme Rose, after a long-fought battle with brain cancer which claimed his wife and soulmate; a tragedy which would shape the pointed, aggressive, lyrical style of his writing and give birth to a never-ending chess match between himself and his realities.
