Hecurrently is ProfessorEmeritus at Windward Community College-University of Hawaiʻi, where he taught astronomy, physics and mathematics, and served as the coordinator of the college's Polynesian Voyagingprogram and the planetarium director of the Hōkūlani Imaginarium. Prior to then, he taught atSt. Louis High School in Honolulu.
