Jonathan ClarkJ.C.D Clark is Hall Distinguisshed Professor of British History at the Universtiy of Kansas; he was formerly a Fellow of Peterhouse, Cambrdige and of All Souls College, Oxford, and a Visiting Professor at the Committee on Social Thought of the Univerity of Chicargo. His books include The Dynamics of Change; Revolution and Rebellion; English Society (now in a seond edition as English Society 1660-1832); The Language of Liberty 1660-1832 and Samuel johnson; he has editied Lord Waldergrave's Memoirs; Ideas and Politics in Modern Britain; Edmund Burke's Reflections on the Revolution in France and, jointly, Samuel Johnson in Historical Context.
