His great-great-grandparents came West by wagon train during the California Gold Rush in 1849, and his grandfather was a miner in the Klondike Gold Rush near Dawson City, in 1900. Jon, who has lived most of his life in Humboldt County, the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest, has been a travel writer, historian, musician, story teller, business journalist, and co-founder of the international market research firm OTR Global.
