John StansfieldStoryteller and author John Stansfield began exploring western North America as a boy in 1960 and has never stopped. He loves hiking and skiing the West and telling stories about its diverse lands, wildlife, and people. He presents a one-man show forall ages reenacting the life of Enos Mills. Stansfield is the author of John Denver: Man of the World (Filter Press, 2008) and Writers of the American West: Multicultural Learning Encounters (Teacher Ideas Press, 2002), which earned a Colorado Authors' League Award and was a finalist for the Colorado Book Award. He received an Oracle Award from National Storytelling Network in 2008.John works to protect Colorado's wild places. For these efforts, the Wilderness Society presented him an Environmental Heroes Award in 2004.
