John Omohundro John Omohundro is SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Anthropology at SUNY Potsdam. He has taught introductory cultural anthropology for 32 years, receiving the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1985 and the onors Professor of the Year Award in 2002. His research interests include ethnic relations, social networks, disaster impacts, and environmental anthropology. He has conducted research in Nevada, San Francisco, the Philippines, Newfoundland, and New York. Among his publications are Careers in Anthropology 2nd Edition (2002), Rough Food: Seasons of Subsistence in Northern Newfoundland (1994), and Chinese Merchant Families of Iloilo: Commerce and Kin in a Central Philippine City (1981).
