John Meredith WilliamsJohn Meredith Williams CBE, born in 1926, was educated at Sherborne School, Dorset and Trinity Hall, Cambridge, served in the Royal Signals and then worked for Shaw Wallace and Company Ltd., based in Calcutta. During this period he took two trips to xplore the Himalayas. in 1953, he married Jean Constance Emerson and returned to England the following year, to take up and successfully develop positions in industry.
