JOHN P. EATON was acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost Titanic authorities. He and co-author Charles Haas are the only historians to have participated in three expeditions to the liner’s wreck site and made perilous 12,500ft dives toTitanic. They have appeared in critically acclaimed television documentaries, dozens of lectures on land and at sea, and have written many bestselling books on the subject. John died in 2021, aged 94.
