John BloomJOHN BLOOM teaches American Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is the author of several articles and books about sports and culture in the United States, including A House of Cards: Baseball Card Collecting and Popular Culure and To Show What an Indian Can Do: Sports at Indian Boarding Schools. He is also the co-editor, along with Michael Nevin Willard, of Sports Matters: Race, Recreation, and Culture.
