John A. Cassara was an intelligence officer and special agent for twenty-six years, beginning as a clandestine case officer for the CIA. At the Treasury Department, he served as a special agent of the Secret Service, of the Customs Service, and n the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, during which assignment he was detailed to the State Department. Cassara lives near Washington, D.C.
