Joel WisnerJoel D. Wisner is professor of supply chain management in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from New Mexico State University and his M.B.A. from West Texas State Univerity. Dr. Wisner worked as an engineer for Union Carbide at its Oak Ridge, TN facility and then worked in the oil industry in the Louisiana Gulf Coast and West Texas areas. Dr. Wisner earned his Ph.D. in supply chain management from Arizona State University. Today, he stays busy teaching courses and writing textbooks in supply chain management and operations management at UNLV. His research and case writing interests are in process assessment and improvement strategies along the supply chain. His articles have appeared in numerous journals including Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Transportation, Production and Operations Management Journal and Business Case Journal.
