Joan Marie Galat

Joan Marie Galat is an award-winning author of more than 25 titles that explore nature, ecology, astronomy, engineering, activism and other topics. Her books have won and been nominated for numerous awards, including the Crystal Kte, Skipping Stones, Green Prize for Sustainable Literature, Green Earth, Rocky Mountain, Red Cedar and Hackmatack, among others. A frequent presenter, Joan has traveled across Canada and internationally to promote literacy and deliver science-themed talks. She lives near Edmonton.
