Jesse FregozoJesse Fregozo is a native Angeleno who primarily works as a painter. He vocalizes the struggles of marginalized communities through the representation of identity and culture as a primary focus. Fregozo uses locations around his community as symbols f identity and a cultural lifestyle that has been carried down generation after generation. Fregozo straddles the line between design and pop culture in the development of his work. His intense works on canvas, paper, photography, and design are mediums for the development of his artwork. For the past three years, he's been working as a Teaching Artist for the Homeboy Art Academy. Fregozo has worked at Juvenile Halls, JDRC programs, along with Parks & Recreation centers for the Homeboy Art Academy. Apart from teaching art, Fregozo has been creating public art, murals, in and out of his community as well as for The Los Angeles Unified School District, LAUSD. Currently, Fregozo is assisting artist and mentor ManOne on a community project titled "Faces of Watts" and is an artist in residency for Artshare LA's Ellsworth Artist Residency Program.
