Jere AlexanderJere Alexander has worked in many areas of animal welfare, as an activist, artist, lawyer, researcher, rescue volunteer, nonprofit director, and consultant. She holds Master's degrees in Gender Studies and Cultural Studies, and has been a licensed atorney since 1993. She is also a visual artist whose fiber art combines found materials, antique linens, and plant dyes to evoke multiple layers of culture and nature. Her work has been shown in galleries in North Carolina, New York and Los Angeles. She lives in rural North Carolina on a small farm with her husband, man-cub, and other companion species.
