Jennifer Watson Jennifer L Watson is a retired elementary school principal living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Honours Psychology, a Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities, and Specialist Certification in Special Education, Engish as a Second Language and Reading. She has published a reading manual for teachers, a series of leveled books for beginning readers and a journal series on the emigration of her ancestors from Europe to Ontario. Jennifer's grandfather was sent to live in an orphanage known as Barnardo's Homes when his London slum family was too poor to keep him. He was later joined in the orphanage by his younger brother and sister. All three children were sent to Canada to work as indentured servants (slaves) on Canadian farms. They were required to do the work of adults but were never paid. Dr. Barnardo was paid for every child he sent to Canada. He died a rich man.
